This tour will give you a quick overview into the rich and complex past of Barcelona, still embracing part of its Roman origins inside of medieval buildings. On our walk through the monumental part of the Gothic Quarter and through the narrow streets of El Borne, (ancient merchant quarter) we will stop on many historical sites and feel the cosmopolitan and culturally rich spirit of Barcelona consolidated over centuries.
For a sweet refreshment we can stop to taste typical spanish hot chocolate with churros in some of the typical Granjas - traditional family shops and restaurants of milk products. If you want to learn more about the history of Chocolate we can visit Museu de Xocolata, located in an ancient monastery in La Ribera district.

If you are interested in History this tour will give you a full overview of the rich and complex past of Barcelona on combined panoramic drive through elegant Eixample and walking tour in the Old town.
Founded by Romans in 1stc.BC as a military settlement on Via Augusta, Barcelona still embraces part of its original Roman city in her interior. On our walk we will follow the footsteps of the Romans through the ancient street grid, still recognizable today.
In the middle Ages Barcelona was a walled city and a leading port of the Mediterranean Sea trade. We will visit the Royal Palace, where Columbus was received by Spanish Kings in 1492. Stroll continues through the narrow streets of former jewish querter El Call while learning more about life and customs of the Sephardi Jews before Iberian Peninsula stopped being homeland for all 3 religions (Christianity, Judaism and Islam) beginning the time of monotheist and modern State of Spain.
Finally, in XIX c. Barcelona experienced huge urban transformation from medieval into a modern city, built in the European artistic style Art Niveau, known locally as Modernism. On a confortable panoramic drive through Eixample area you will see many impressive houses, built by Gaudi and other arquitects.
